The Era of Intrigue - In this set, you'll experience the confrontation between followers of new and old beliefs, taking part in determining Catan's spiritual balance. The "Religious Dispute" card causes both players to lose cards, while Churches and Temples help minimize losses. Temple cards strengthen your access to your draw stacks, and Church cards attract opposing heroes and earn gold. By building a Church and a Temple, you can construct the Great Thing stead and end the conflict.

The Era of Merchant Princes - This set focuses on controlling Catan's commerce. Using the "Commercial Harbor" and "Merchant's Residences" - key buildings in the struggle for trade advantage - players try to dominate trade. "Maritime Trade Monopolies" and "Master Merchants" enhance trade ships, while "The Shipbuilder" reduces the building costs of ships. Dominate trade by utilizing clever card combinations!

The Era of Barbarians - In this era, players must defend their territory against barbarian attacks and rival players' attempts to dominate their holdings. Use Castles, Border Fortresses, the Strategist, the Caravel, and new heroes to fend off both barbarian invasions and your rival's efforts.
