Description

Pandemic Legacy is a cooperative campaign game featuring an overarching story-arc that unfolds over 12-24 sessions, depending on your group's performance. Initially, the game resembles the basic Pandemic, where your team of disease-fighting specialists races against time to travel the world, treating disease hotspots and researching cures for four plagues before they spiral out of control.

During a player's turn, they have four actions available to travel around the world in various ways (sometimes requiring card discards), build structures like research stations, treat diseases (removing one cube from the board; eradicating a disease when all cubes of a color are removed), trade cards with other players, or discover a cure for a disease (requiring five cards of the same color to be discarded at a research station). Each player has a unique role with special abilities to assist with these actions.

After taking their actions, players draw two cards that may include epidemic cards, which place new disease cubes on the board and can lead to outbreaks, spreading disease cubes further. Outbreaks also increase a city's panic level, making travel to that city more costly.

Each month, you have two chances to achieve the objectives. If you succeed, you progress to the next month. If you fail, you get a second chance with more funding for beneficial event cards.

Throughout the campaign, new rules and components are introduced, occasionally requiring permanent alterations to game components, such as writing on cards, ripping up cards, or placing permanent stickers. Characters can gain new skills or detrimental effects, and a character can even be permanently lost, rendering it unplayable.

Pandemic Legacy offers an evolving gameplay experience, with permanent changes that create a thrilling, immersive adventure as you work together to save the world from devastating diseases.
