In 7 Wonders, the game unfolds over three rounds, called Ages. Players simultaneously play cards to develop their city, selecting from a variety of buildings that produce resources, provide civilian, commercial, military, or scientific advancements, or grant membership in powerful guilds. As each Age progresses, the importance of your choices increases, ratcheting up the tension in the game.

At the end of each Age, players engage in military conflicts with their closest neighbors, and after three Ages, victory points are tallied based on your city's development, your wonder, your military prowess, and the wealth of your treasury. The player with the highest score emerges victorious.
